Do candles last forever?

What do you do to keep it burning?

The wind is merciless. But you have people around, to build you a shelter so you continue burning.

People who put their hands above you, and their bodies around you regardless of how you burn them sometimes.

And you keep burning. And burning.

Yes, less brightly sometimes, but you burn all the same.

Until one day, someone comes, and takes over.

You expect the same, you hope to burn even brighter.

But when u least expected, a big PUFF comes your way, and you STOP burning.

No more flame, no more fire.

No more heat, no more warmth.

You become a cold drift, on a frosty winter night.

You shed ashes, from the remnants of the fire you once carried along the way.

But you keep smiling, a trained smile, so good that no one knows whats going on inside.

And you intend to keep it this way.

For deep inside you, you hope,

that one day, the candle you carry will be lighted again.

Until then, you will continue smiling.

I have been BINGE-EATING. No seriously. >_<

There is nothing scarier than seeing a healthy patient on your chair turn cold suddenly, eyes rolled up, halfway through giving him LA.

You call him, but he doesn't respond.

You try to shout, but the voice that comes out sounds so muffled and soft.

You look at your clinical partner with eyes filled with fear, hoping that she'll get that its SERIOUS.

You find your voice, only muffled, but panic-filled.

Your heart stops, and you just stare, your mind goes blank.

Your tutors come running in, and the patient starts to seize. You stare with more horror, looking at the patients arms and legs jerking uncontrollably.

It then all becomes a blur. You lose focus yourself.

Blank.

Next thing you know, your tutors look at you and asks you if you were alright.

You tried to respond, no voice at all.

And then you felt faint. The world was spinning, and you were shaking uncontrollably.

Cold hands, cold feet. Pale white as sheet face.

People rushing around you in a flurry of motion. Tutors coming in to check if you were doing alright.

Yes, my patient had a seizure halfway through treatment. Caused by hypoglycaemia, we believe. Unlikely to be a reaction to the local anaesthetic I was giving him, coz I only managed to give him half a cartridge ( which is ard 1ml).. too little to cause any reaction, and such an immediate one, at that.

As you could tell, I was properly traumatised. Apparently this doesnt occur very frequently, even my tutor who worked for 8years in private practice hadn't experienced a medical emergency like this before.

Lucky me?

I'm not so sure about that. =S

Err. I'M BACK?

Haha ME IS BACK TO THE WORLD.

I know I always have this diappearing acts, where I disappear for a long time, then come back into the blogging world with the same phrase : " I AM BACK."

Yes even I AM BORED of hearing myself talk. ( I have very little creativity when it comes to choice of words so it seems =) )

But anyways, Welcome back, ME! Another year of ups and downs in Manchester, the place I've grown to LOVE very much.

So much has happened since my plane touched down on this freezing cold place. I moved into a new house with 4 other lovely girls~ mingwei, big n small rach, anita.. started my 4th academic year as a student dentist... celebrated my birthday with the many friends I love... played host to so many visitors coming to manchester over the first few weeks..

.. and now things are beginning to slow down abit.

I am quite the exhausted. ( my unfixed anaemia is not helping =S )

I know this is completely random, and my birthday is far from OVER, but I felt like I had a continuous celebration even after 2 weeks.

Which is really nice. =)

And for that, I thank God for the lovely people He brought into my life.

Thank you, my fellow housemates and coursemates for giving me a wonderful prebirthday and birthday night. =) Thank you Rachelle, Mingwei, Yipei, Oliver, Ailing, Wani, Farah, Paran, Abdullah, HyunMin, Momo, Anita, small rach n Wenghong. Ps. Rach, THE pink PIG CANDLES ARE WAY CUTE! ( I can't seem to get over how cute they are even until now hahaha ) I loved my balloon TOO! ( too bad it flew away =( )

Hahaha another random picture of when pei helen ang n eric came to manchester. This one's a classic, I feel!! =) plus it has my new room as 'backdrop' heheh =) altho not the full room =)

Oh oh and another thing! I helped paint the backdrop for a children's play in StEdwards =) and although I didn't do the entire piece, and I could be happier with abit more time to do more to make it look better, but anyways! Michelle was happy with it, and I'm glad I could help =)

Ok this post is very disorganised, but oh well. I have so MUCH to write I don't know where to start! Plus I am not very bothered to arrange it according to 'chronological' order heh.
